About Us

Founded by local philanthropist and soccer enthusiast Mr. M.E. “Mmbi” Munasi, the Vhanasi Soccer Tournament is an annual five-day event held in Vhembe from 27–31 December. What started with just four local teams has grown into a premier grassroots competition featuring 16 top SAFA Vhembe clubs, attracting fans from across Limpopo.

Vision:

To become a leading grassroots soccer showcase in Limpopo and beyond – inspiring young athletes and elevating community soccer.

Mission:

To discover and develop local talent, foster regional pride, and unite communities through football, while providing players with competitive opportunities and exposure to scouts.

Objectives

  • Player Development: Offer competitive platforms and coaching exposure for young athletes.
  • Community Upliftment: Engage families, students, and neighbors to strengthen local pride.
  • Economic Boost: Stimulate local businesses and entrepreneurs during the tournament week.
  • Talent Exposure: Highlight standout players for provincial and national recognition.
  • Sportsmanship & Values: Promote teamwork, discipline, and fair play among all participants.

Future Outlook

Plans include launching U17, Women’s, and Veterans divisions, as well as a Vhanasi Football Academy to train, mentor, and support youth year-round.
